Purpose of the job:

 

The corporate communications position is responsible for getting the company's message to the desired audience. This will include crafting messages for an internal audience (employees). Because the person filling this position in many ways is the "face" of the company, specific knowledge, skills and abilities are required in order to perform the job effectively.

 

The candidate for corporate communications is expected to:

 

•            Ensure that Virtusa internal communications function are among the best in the industry, and can meet expectations of building the company’s reputation and brand recognition across stakeholder groups, including employees, prospective employees, clients and prospects, media, industry associations, universities and government bodies.

•            Promote and develop the company’s reputation and engagement across stakeholder groups and build a positive profile for the company.

•            Support the company’s Officers and leaders in the exercise of their various communications related activities, and maintain a close and supportive working relationship with team leaders, functional managers, location leaders, head of marketing and executive officers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

•            To ensure that the internal communications function has a high impact in terms of keeping employees regularly informed, engaged and inspired and ensure that staff have a clear and positive grasp of Virtusa’s corporate vision, mission and business goals.

•            To manage this function in a way that directly contributes developing a sense of pride amongst employees for the company and position it as a ‘great place to work’

•            Plan, organize and implement internal and external communications initiatives that enhance corporate image and reputation, build equity in the corporate brand and strengthen employee engagement.

•            Create and deliver executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals.

•            Draft messaging to ensure all target audiences receive consistent, accurate, and polished communication

•            Will be responsible for writing and creation of marketing communications materials (brochures, invitations, documentation, e-mail broadcasts etc.) for both internal- and external-facing

•            Provide communications support for integrated marketing campaigns, working alongside other project stakeholders.

•            Act as a brand guardian to ensure communications are consistent and conform to Virtusa’s brand guidelines.

•            Liaise effectively with senior management, other internal and external stakeholders and members of the marketing team to complete projects in a timely fashion

•            Strong project management skills and ability to interpret concepts into written briefs and content.

•            A flexible approach and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

•            E-Communications: To manage all aspects of the company’s intranet communications portal to a high standard, and produce user friendly e-products in the light of regular user feedback

 

Primary Skill:

 

•            Excellent copy writing skills with attention to detail and a strong grasp of English grammar and spelling

•            Experience in writing marketing language – should have created marketing collaterals

•            Have the ability to quickly build relationships, work collaboratively at all levels, taking initiative easily, bringing a very strong strategic and creative approach to work.

•            Experience in working in a busy marketing department, with a strong communications bias

•            Ability to help manage several complex and detailed projects to fixed timetables concurrently

•            Ability to work in fast paced distributed environment

•            Experience in identifying and measuring communications metrics

•            Willing to travel to other regions in India (only on need basis)

•            Intermediate level experience in Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Experience: 

 

5+ years’ of relevant work experience in a global internal communications environment working across different stakeholder groups and utilizing interactive internal communications platforms (social media) focused on high interaction and engagement.

 

Education: Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, English/ Language/ Literature or related field
